Sagging breasts can cause low self-esteem in women who miss their perky, youthful breasts. Fortunately, breast lifts and breast augmentations can help. A breast lift, or a breast lift with implants, restores the desired appearance by removing excess skin, reshaping breast tissue, and tightening remaining skin. With the aid of implants, a breast augmentation helps to balance breasts and increase their size and volume. While similar in shapes, sizes, and textures, implants are either saline (silicone shells filled with sterile saltwater) or silicone (silicone shells filled with silicone gel). Breast augmentation with fat transfer is also an option: Fat is removed by liposuction from areas of the body where it is unwanted and transferred to areas where rejuvenation is desired. If more than reshaping and lifting of the breasts is required, reconstruction or reduction may be good options. Breast reconstruction is a welcome procedure for many women who have lost one or both breasts, and breast reduction can ease back and neck pain through the reconstruction of large breasts.
