MENTOR® has been making breast implants for more than two decades. Its implants are designed for breast augmentation and reconstruction and are made according to strict testing and production standards.
MENTOR’s high-quality implants include MemoryGel® and MemoryShape® silicone implants, as well as saline implants. If you are interested in getting the MENTOR breast implants in Dallas, schedule a consultation at one of our North Texas Plastic Surgery offices in Dallas, Southlake, or Plano.
MENTOR saline breast implants are filled with a solution of saltwater that mimics the fluid that makes up most of the body. This means that in the unlikely event of an implant rupture, there’s no chance of the implant leaking a substance that’s harmful to the body.
When saline implants are inserted into the breast, they are not yet inflated. Once the implant has been inserted, it’s filled with the saline liquid. Once it reaches the desired size, the fill-tube is removed, and the implant closes via a self-sealing mechanism. This filling method allows the surgeon to adjust breast volume during surgery, making saline implants a highly flexible option.
MENTOR saline implants have three projection (profile) options. Generally, these vary by how far from the chest wall they project:
The texture of silicone gel resembles the feel of human breast tissue much more closely than a saline implant. This means that silicone implants look and feel more natural than saline implants.
As with saline implants, there is a low risk of implant rupture. Modern silicone implants are also much less likely to rupture than older implants, as they have thicker shells. MENTOR’s modern implants are filled with a thicker gel, called cohesive gel. This gel is soft like breast tissue but because it’s thicker, it’s much less likely to leak from a ruptured implant.
Mentor’s MemoryGel silicone breast implants are round implants that are available in smooth and textured varieties, with a range of size and profile options. Both the smooth and round varieties come in four different profiles:
All four options can size up to 800cc. The higher profile options have smaller diameters but more outward projection. This gives the bust more upper fullness than is provided by the moderate profile options. The moderate profiles have wider diameters and lower projection, which provides a more natural look.
These teardrop-shaped implants have more fullness at the bottom of the implant than at the top, which means they have the same silhouette as a natural breast. These implants also have a unique texture that helps ensure they stay in place.
MemoryShape implants come in five different height and profile combinations, each designed for different looks and frames. Implant sizes range from 650cc to 775cc.
High-profile implants provide more outward projection and upper fullness to the bust line, while moderate-profile implants have a more natural look. Low, medium, and tall height implants are designed for women of different frame sizes to ensure that all women can benefit from implants that are proportional to their height.
Women who choose MENTOR breast implants are eligible for a limited warranty. The terms and conditions of the warranty may change, depending on the type of implant chosen and the date of the procedure.
Most implant types have a 10-year warranty and provide limited coverage for surgical costs. Saline implants have a lifetime replacement policy in the event of deflation, and MemoryGel silicone implants have a similar policy for implant rupture.
