Cosmetic surgery trends have shifted gears in the last year. Women who experience discomfort, have congenital conditions, and who simply want to have some work done are now opting for labiaplasty surgeries. This surgery involves the reduction of the labia. While this is not a surgery women will often share with everyone, it makes them feel better about themselves and less self-conscious about their bodies.
Buttocks augmentation is another procedure gaining popularity thanks to celebrity endorsement. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery reported a 49% increase in the reshaping of female body parts and a 43% increase in non-surgical fat reduction procedures.
Liposuction is also gaining popularity again, with non-invasive surgical procedures becoming available.
What are men getting done? More men are opting for male breast reduction; face lifts; and, most popular, eyelid lifts. Like women, men are researching options to look young again. This is due to several factors, including competition in the workforce. As men are living longer but looking older, they are pressured to look younger to avoid being discriminated against based on their age.
