If you are considering liposuction, there are 10 common myths you should read about. For example, it is recommended that you get lipo only after traditional dieting and exercise have failed. Lipo should be used to help contour problem areas only after you have been on a diet and exercise program and cannot shed the extra few pounds in those areas. Lipo does not eliminate cellulite; in fact, your cellulite issues may grow if you get lipo.
Another common myth is that fat will return in other parts of your body after having liposuction. Fat cells are not evenly distributed in your body. After surgery, they are still not evenly distributed. Even though fat cells grow differently, they will be fewer in places where you had the lipo, and those places won’t fill in the same way they did before. All remaining cells will pick up for the lack of those cells you had sucked out. These will grow evenly, but they may not be in the same areas as before.
You are never too old for liposuction. While health conditions may affect your candidacy for liposuction, consult your doctor just to be sure. Learn more about liposuction and the myths here!
