How Does the Nd: YAG Work?
As part of the M22™ modular multi-application machine from Lumenis®, the Nd: YAG module works by using light energy that is delivered in pulses to safely reduce and eliminate vascular lesions like spider veins. This technology enables our physicians to use the light source in targeted areas to treat vascular conditions on the legs and cause them to fade away.
Because of its ability to target specific areas for treatment, there is little worry about surrounding areas of skin, tissue, or veins being affected or damaged. The Nd: YAG module uses multiple sequential pulsing with four easily changed light guides which allow the device to deliver a sequence of pulses of energy that cool between successions of pulses. This allows the device to be used on nearly all skin types, including darker skin while limiting pain and the chances of unwanted side-effects.
