Which Breast Implant Is Right for You?
Implants Vs. Fat Transfer: Which Is Better?
A fat transfer is an ideal choice if you’re only aiming for a modest boost in breast size. With fat transfer, fat cells are taken from the body through liposuction and then transferred to the breasts for a 100% natural look.
If you want to go bigger, a breast implant augmentation is a better option for you. With a breast implant augmentation, implants are inserted into the breasts (below or above the muscle) for a more dramatic increase in breast size.
Unlike the case of a fat transfer where some of the fat cells are reabsorbed by the body after some time (thus decreasing breast size), implants can render a more prominent cleavage and a more consistent result.
So, What Implant Options Do You Have?
There are four breast implant types we offer at North Texas Plastic Surgery: saline, silicone, gummy bear, and structured breast implants.
This type of implant is an empty, thin, flexible silicone pocket that is inserted inside the breasts and filled with salt water or saline. The advantages of a saline breast implant over other implant types include smaller incision and that the patient will just pee out the salt water when the implant ruptures.
Silicone implants are pre-filled with a very thick silicone gel that feels like human fat tissue. These ready-made implants are inserted into the breasts to create a more natural look than saline implants. Silicone implants today have no major health risks and do not rupture easily like its saline counterpart.
Made from heavy-duty silicone gel, the gummy bear breast implant resembles the consistency of the gummy bear candy. This implant type can create firmer and fuller breasts because it maintains its shape better compared to other silicone implants. It also feels softer and looks more natural.
The chance of developing folds or visible wrinkles in the breasts skin with gummy bear breast implants is lower than that with saline implants. Gummy bear implants are also less likely to tear and leak, making it safer to use.
- Saline Breast Implants
- Silicone Breast Implants
- Gummy Bear Silicone Breast Implants
- Structured Breast Implants
This implant type has multiple shells filled with saline to make them structured for a more natural feel and movement. The structured breast implant is less likely to rupture or deflate than saline implants.
