Education & Surgical Training
Dr. Kim’s path to facial plastic surgery began at the University of Arkansas, where she received a full academic scholarship as a Governor’s Scholar. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Biochemistry and Biology and a minor in Spanish.
She went on to attend the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences on a competitive merit-based scholarship. During medical school, she graduated with Honors in Research and served as President of the American Medical Women’s Association.
Dr. Kim then completed a rigorous five-year residency in Head and Neck Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Training in a high-volume program at one of the nation’s busiest trauma centers provided extensive experience in complex facial anatomy, reconstruction, and surgery. She also served as an administrative chief resident.
Following residency, Dr. Kim further specialized by completing a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Emory University. Her advanced training included cosmetic and functional rhinoplasty, deep plane face and neck lift, brow lift procedures, upper and lower blepharoplasty, laser resurfacing, facial feminization, facial reanimation, and reconstructive facial surgery.
Throughout her training, Dr. Kim has contributed to the advancement of her field through peer-reviewed research, textbook chapters, and presentations at regional and national meetings.
