Men who come in for a surgical neck lift will be given general anesthesia to ensure you don’t feel a thing. The liposuction will begin, during which excess fat from the jawline and underneath the chin is removed. The incisions will occur behind each ear and under the chin. After the excess fat is successfully removed, tissue and skin are then carefully sewn together with sutures.
This process takes about three to four hours in total and we will then monitor you for an hour to ensure that there are no complications. You should schedule a friend or family member to drive you home afterward.
Following your neck lift procedure, you will be required to rest for at least two weeks. Though you may do simple work and activities, it is very important during this period that you do not over-extend, roughly twist, or bend your neck in any manner that interferes with the healing process. To facilitate healing, reduce swelling, and ease discomfort, you may be required to temporarily wear a special neck brace.
