By the age of 50, up to 85% of men will report experiencing hair loss, mostly some form of male pattern baldness. While women do not experience hair loss in the same areas as men, they do experience hair loss in some form and it can become quite noticeable. At our Med Spa, we offer highly successful hair loss treatments for residents of Dallas, Southlake, and the entire region. Both men and women can benefit from these safe and effective procedures.
North Texas Plastic Surgery is proud to provide hair transplant treatment via the state-of-the-art ARTAS iX robotic hair restoration system. This FDA-cleared technology provides follicular unit extraction (FUE) hair transplantation with robotic precision and artificial intelligence control. It can treat various forms of baldness, from receding hairlines to extra wide part-lines, to outright bald patches.
The ARTAS iX has taken a known method of hair transplantation and applied the use of robotics and artificial intelligence to the process. Traditional FUE hair transplantation requires an experienced surgeon who chooses the follicles to extract and then transplants them to the new area. Most patients need thousands of hair follicles moved, so this is a difficult, tricky, and arduous process.
With the ARTAS iX system, the AI will map your scalp and hair follicles. It then uses a high-definition stereoscopic vision system and a robotic arm controlled by AI algorithms to identify and select the best hair follicles from the one-centimeter square donor area. Follicles are evenly extracted with precision and speed, and the donor area will not have scars or small bald areas.
When follicles are transplanted, the system ensures the follicles are placed at the correct angle so that they will match your existing hair growth. The hairs currently in the transplanted follicles will be lost about five days after the transplant, but the follicles are still present, and you will see new hair in four to six months. Our Dallas and Southlake patients should find the transplanted follicles to be permanent and an effective response to hair loss.
Patients report minimal pain. They also enjoy the minimal recovery time with a quick return to regular activities after only a few days! The results are excellent, with up to 98 percent of follicles surviving after transplant.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a medical treatment for hair loss. When we notice hair loss, this does not mean that the hair follicles are gone, some may have simply reached a point where they cannot produce hair anymore. PRP can help these silenced hair follicles by increasing blood supply in the treated area. This stimulates hair growth, increases hair thickness and density and protects hair follicles from prematurely losing their strands.
A PRP treatment involves using your own blood. First, your blood is drawn, then it is spun in a centrifuge to separate out the plasma that is richest in blood cells. The last step is to inject this plasma into an area where hair growth is desired. A session usually takes about 45 minutes and you can return to your regular life immediately.
Nothing involving hair restoration happens quickly because of the natural hair growth cycle, so you will wait about three months before seeing results. Most patients will schedule multiple treatment sessions about four to six months apart to help extend treatment areas and renew areas where the PRP effect may be decreasing.
You do not need to live with hair loss and the way it makes you look older. Make an appointment today to discuss your hair loss concerns with one of our board-certified or board-eligible plastic surgeons. We offer the best hair transplant and regrowth solutions available today. The ARTAS iX system can restore functioning hair follicles to areas where hair is sparse or completely gone; and PRP hair restoration treatments can be used in certain cases, especially if the hair loss is recent.
