Xeomin in Fort Worth

Xeomin in Fort Worth

Have you heard about Xeomin? Merz Aesthetics has created a version of botulinum toxin with new advantages for patients to experience. If you have forehead folds and creases (frown lines) or crow’s feet wrinkles that you would like to soften and decrease, call our Med Spa to find out more about the amazing benefits of Xeomin.

What is Xeomin and How Does It Work?

Xeomin is a form of botulinum toxin type A, purified from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. Any botulinum toxin preparation works by blocking the release of muscle-contracting chemicals, preventing facial muscles from tensing and causing frown lines.

Although wrinkles may not disappear completely, Xeomin treatment, as offered in our Fort Worth office, will significantly improve even moderate to severe frown lines.

What Is So Special About Xeomin?

Xeomin is produced through a precise proprietary process called XTRACT Technology that uses two filtration steps to isolate the toxin molecules. This filtration process then leaves extra surrounding proteins behind to create an extremely pure product.

This purity is important because when a less pure toxin is injected into your body, its extra proteins can cause a negative reaction in your immune system, decreasing the effectiveness. In these cases, patients may see almost no effect from it or need subsequent injections more frequently. It may take multiple injection sessions to determine whether an immune reaction is significant enough to decrease success.

Because of its purity, Xeomin may be a preferred choice to secure better, long-lasting results. During an initial Fort Worth consultation, we will discuss your medical history and reactions to previous and current medications to determine whether Xeomin is right for you.

Treatments

All Xeomin treatments in Fort Worth are performed in our office. Appointments are quick and can be squeezed into busy schedules, usually taking only 10 to 20 minutes.

A topical anesthetic can be applied, and after the injection, discomfort can be managed with over-the-counter medications. You may notice and treat minor swelling or bruising at the treatment site with a cool pack.

Xeomin may cause allergic reactions. Call us if you notice itching, rash, or redness at the area of injection. Occasionally, the toxin can move around and affect other muscles. Any changes in facial appearance or function, suspicious changes involving your head or neck function, or vision changes should be reported to us.

Results

Results are not instantaneous. You will start to see visible smoothing of your frown lines about three to four days after the Xeomin injection. Final results can be observed about 30 days post-injection.

Most patients report that the effects of Xeomin last approximately three months, but results depend on how your body reacts to the toxin. We gladly welcome our patients to schedule return appointments to continue treating their wrinkles.
